Blog
Here's my page for rambling! I'm hoping to do life updates and some thoughts on why fandom/media archivism is so important to me, the culture of peer surveillance I grew up with on Tumblr that only seems to be getting worse, fandom events musings, rec lists, and just fun rambles about the things I'm interested in. The coding for all of this is still a work in progress, but the categories are: Personal (life updates), Fandom (thoughts about fandom itself and media I've been into), Coding (new projects and things I've learned), and Featured (things I want to share from elsewhere on the web).
Life Update April 2026
I guess I should do a little personal post to get something under this category! A few things going on with me right now, some of which I may write about more extensively in the future
1. I’m almost done with my associates degree in business. I’m hoping to add on a computer science-y degree once I transfer. I’m limited to jobs and careers I can do from home due to my health, and the latter seems a lot more fun, but it has been nice being able to build up credits at all over the past few years even slowly. I just need to schedule a few CLEP exams to boost myself ahead a bit more… unfortunately I keep working on my fandom shrines instead, lol.
2. I’m trying to be less… online? It’s hard due to the aforementioned kinda-housebound situation, but I’m trying to limit my social media time at least and focus more on creating and learning skills, like web development and game dev. I’ve slipped backward with it a bit because sometimes I really don’t have the energy to do more than scroll :( But I’m in a much better place with it all than I was even a couple months ago. I’m hoping to put together something about the resources and tools that have been helping me.
3. Just grateful for where I’m at in life! I love my friends and partner and dog, and there’s a lot going well for me these days that I never thought would be. It’s hard to remember that sometimes because the world is so bleak and life is so challenging with the way I have to live it. But I’m glad for the things I do have.
4. Fandoms… I haven’t had much time for due to school and work and life insanity. But I’m still really into Cloak & Dagger, Silo, and 1000xRESIST. I’m making my way through Starfleet Academy, and I recently caught up with School Spirits… I need to be careful not to get too obsessed with too much, haha, because then I end up not actually functioning as a person… but it is really nice to have some blorbo dolls to play with these days and to make shrines around. I'm SO proud of my Brigid O'Reilly one!! Oh, also on this branch, I should mention the Completely Arbitrary Sunset Exchange coming up for Sunset, an archive based around femslash! I'm hoping to participate in it once it's live. :)
Anyway, I guess that’s the gist of it! I would say to comment how you’re doing, but I don’t know how to get a comments situation set up, lol. I should try Zonelets in the future, but for now I just want to experiment on my own. I do hope if you’re reading this that you’re doing alright, though! <3

This is another one I think I found on Tumblr. The whole atmosphere is just so cool and powerful and it was a great intro to the singer's other music.

I think this used to float around on Tumblr in probably... 2015? I have revisted it countless times since then. It's just so soothing and unique. I really wish I could get a handpan and learn how to play, but they are so expensive. I DO have a tongue drum that has a similar effect at least! I should really try to play it more. Anyway, I love this video a lot and I highly recommend checking out this person's other videos. They've somehow only kept getting better in the years since. Maybe I should make a tag or page for music specifically...

Anyway here's a cool video

Still figuring out this whole blog code thing, BUT! Part of why I want to get this working is so I can share cool stuff I come across? And this has totally captivated me:
SIREN & LOCKBOY retells the Greek myth of Pygmalion as a musical cyberpunk drama.
If you've been into Hadestown or some other musicals, you may recognize Miranda Pla as an animatic artist who had some absolute bangers. Her "Way Down to Hadestown" animatic is what introduced me to the musical in the first place. She's been releasing pieces of her own original series and it is SO! GOOD! The art, the music the story... It's so captivating and I'm so stoked to see where it goes. Heed the warnings, but please check it out!!

I grabbed the code of W3 Schools to play around with, here. So far it kind of works? Initially, it was having trouble processing switching the "active" class depending on the selected category due to the active class in my mobile nav bar conflicting with it. I removed that, not sure if I will ever need it again, but I guess that's something to figure out another time.
Eventually I do want to have a proper tagging system the way typical blogging sites do, and I want to have it so that clicking on a blogpost takes you to its own dedicated page. Plus, it would be cool if the content could be shared in global blocks, as in the blog feed and a section on my home page could automatically populate with the first bit of the content that is in the post itself. That's probably something I should use Zonelets for, but for now I want to be stubborn and learn what I can by myself, lol. And in just jumping in, I can at least have some posts to test on, now!
